Gianni Gilardi
Short curriculum
- Gianni Gilardi was born in Milan in 1947. He graduated in Mathematics with full marks in Pavia in 1970 and was full professor of Mathematical Analysis since 1980.
- At the present time, he is professor emeritus at the University of Pavia (since 2019, after retirement in October 2017).
- For almost 50 years, he was teaching in the University of Pavia, mainly (just 5 years in the Politecnico di Milano).
- He has been the local responsible of a PhD school and of research grants for several years.
- He gave several courses for ungraduated students, in PhD schools, in the Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica "F. Severi", and for teachers in Italy and Switzerland.
- He gave a number of talks in Italy and abroad (Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Japan, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, U.S.A.).
- He contributed to the organization of a number of conferences and courses.
- His main field of research is nonlinear PDEs, in particular free boundary problems and phase transition models.
